1) Who we are

2) What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use WayProof (the "App").

3) Information we collect

We may collect the following categories of information depending on which features you use:

• Information you provide: structured accessibility observations, entrance and route coordinates, temporary barrier reports, reports about content, short notes, and optional manually redacted photos.
• Account information: Firebase Authentication UID and Google account name, email, and profile image when you choose Google sign-in.
• App activity and identifiers: watched places, contribution status, moderation records, timestamps, and Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens when you opt in to alerts.
• Local-only information: your selected access needs, saved places, drafts, and cached dossiers remain in the app's local storage and are not uploaded as an access profile.
• Camera and location: camera access is used only when you choose evidence capture. Foreground location is used only when you request nearby positioning or a precise field action. Background location is never requested.

4) How we use information

• Provide and improve core app features, including the accessibility evidence map.
• Aggregate structural accessibility observations and compute confidence scores.
• Send opt-in notifications for material changes to places you watch.
• Maintain safety, prevent abuse, moderate user-generated content, and troubleshoot issues.

5) Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information only in these cases:

• Service providers: vendors who help operate the app under strict agreements. WayProof uses Google Maps and Places APIs, and Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, App Check). Please review Google's privacy policies.
• Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

6) Data retention and deletion

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the app and for legitimate business purposes. Temporary hazards expire automatically. You can delete individual contributions and can delete your account in the app. Account deletion removes your cloud contributions, reports, watches, notification tokens, and uploaded files, then deletes the Firebase Authentication account.

7) Your choices and controls

• Permissions: you can allow or deny permissions (camera, location, notifications) in Android settings.
• Access & correction: you can edit or delete your own contributions in the app.
• Deletion: you can delete your account and data directly within the app.

8) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

9) Children’s privacy

WayProof is a community-driven evidence map and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Please refer to our Child Safety Standards page.

10) International transfers

Your information may be transferred to and stored in Google Cloud infrastructure. WayProof currently uses the Firestore nam5 multi-region, a us-central1 Storage bucket, and us-central1 Cloud Functions. We take steps to protect information in accordance with this policy.

11) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on our website at https://saifullah.ai and update the effective date above.
