Who provides Muyara

Muyara is provided by Saifullah Ahad. Contact [email protected] or visit saifullah.ai.

Student participation

Students do not create accounts. A student chooses a display name or class alias, enters a room code, and may submit answers or a Silent Hand signal. The app creates a random app-specific participant key so the same device can reconnect to an active room. Muyara does not access a student's contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone, advertising identifier, or Android device identifier.

How a live room works

Room codes, display names, questions, answers, and Silent Hand signals travel between the devices in that room over the local network or a direct nearby-device connection. They are not routed through Muyara's cloud service. Other students do not receive another student's answer. The teacher can deliberately reveal named answers in the teacher view.

Nearby discovery may ask for Nearby devices and nearby Wi-Fi permissions. Android 11 and earlier may label the equivalent discovery permission as Location. Muyara uses these permissions only to find and connect to a room; it does not read, derive, retain, or share location.

Teacher account and Firebase

A teacher may optionally create an account using an email address and password. Firebase Authentication processes the email and authentication credentials. Firebase Cloud Firestore stores that teacher's question sets and aggregate session-history topic counts for backup and restore. Student display names, participant keys, individual answers, and Silent Hand signals are not uploaded to the teacher account.

This cloud data is required only when the optional teacher account is used, is encrypted in transit, and remains until the teacher deletes the account or synced data. Firebase is operated by Google; see Google's Privacy Policy.

Local storage

Muyara stores the chosen display name, random participant key, saved question sets, teacher history aggregates, and student result history in the app's private storage. Android backup may copy eligible private app data to the device owner's configured backup service. Uninstalling the app or clearing app storage removes local data.

Reports and child safety

“Report and leave” blocks the reported room on that device; the report is not automatically uploaded. A user can send a child-safety report by email from the Child Safety screen. The email app shows the message before the user sends it. Read the Muyara Child Safety Standards.

Feedback

“Send feedback” opens the user's email app. Muyara does not send a network form or silently collect feedback. Information is sent only if the user completes and sends the email.

Your controls

Children

Muyara supports teacher-moderated classroom participation and provides no student-to-student messaging, public profiles, public posting, photo sharing, or content discovery. Teachers and responsible adults should supervise classroom use. We do not knowingly use student participation data for advertising or profiling.

Security and changes

We use device-private storage, encrypted cloud transport, owner-scoped database rules, and limited permissions. No system is completely secure. We may update this policy when the app changes; the effective date above will identify the latest version.
