Rejoin Privacy Policy

Effective 5 September 2026. Developer: Saifullah Ahad. Android package: ai.saifullah.rejoin.

Rejoin helps you record disassembly photos, label removed parts and follow your own steps to put an item back together.

Information stored on your device

The app stores project names, original photos, photo-step notes, part labels, quantities, storage locations, orientation notes and assembly progress. Project metadata and photos are encrypted with AES-GCM using a key held in Android Keystore. These files remain in Rejoin's private application storage. The app does not have a server, accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs or network permission.

Camera and chosen files

You can capture a photo through your chosen camera app or select an existing image through Android's file picker. The camera receives temporary access to its output file. Rejoin does not request access to your entire photo library, microphone or location. Original images can contain camera metadata, including a location added by the camera; Rejoin preserves these original files.

Optional app lock

App lock starts switched off. You may enable a dedicated Rejoin PIN, biometric unlock, or both. A random salt and SHA-256 hash of the Rejoin PIN are stored locally; the plain PIN is never stored. Unsuccessful attempts are delayed after repeated failures. The Rejoin PIN is separate from the device PIN. Android handles fingerprint or face verification and does not give biometric data to Rejoin. Device-credential fallback is not used. When app lock is enabled, sensitive content is hidden from recent-app previews and screenshots.

Portable backups

You may export a project, including its original photos, into a password-encrypted backup. Encryption occurs before writing the backup to the location you choose in Android's document picker. That location may be provided by a cloud-storage app of your choice; its privacy practices are separate. Rejoin does not upload the backup to a developer service. The backup password cannot be recovered. A restored project is added as a separate copy.

Retention and deletion

Projects stay on the device until you delete them or clear or uninstall the app. Deleting a project removes its stored photos and records from Rejoin. Uninstalling or clearing app data also removes the local encryption key. Automatic Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled. Export a protected backup before uninstalling if you want to retain a project. Deleting a local project does not remove backup copies you previously saved elsewhere.

Capture and restore operations use temporary files in private cache storage. Normal completed or failed operations remove their temporary files. Interrupted restore files are removed the next time the workbench loads; abandoned camera files are removed after they are more than one day old.
