Child Safety Standards — Musaya
1. Commitment and scope
Musaya is provided by Saifullah Ahad. We maintain zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, trafficking, sexual solicitation of a child, or any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, endangers, or facilitates harm to a child.
Musaya helps a farmer measure the seasonal walking that scattered strips of land cause, and helps invited neighbors in a group agree on who cultivates which strip for one season. What members can put in front of one another is limited to strip names, membership of a neighbor group, and ring offers. Musaya is intended for adults arranging seasonal cultivation. It is not directed to children under 13, and it must not be used to contact, target, or exploit a child.
2. Prohibited use
The following are prohibited in Musaya:
- Naming a strip, or writing any other text that reaches another member's phone, to describe, request, advertise, or share CSAM or any other content that sexualizes or exploits a child.
- Grooming, sexual solicitation, sextortion, trafficking, stalking, coercion, or planning harm to a child.
- Using a neighbor group, a strip, a location, or a ring offer to identify, locate, track, threaten, sexualize, exploit, or endanger a child, including a child who lives on or works the land.
3. Prevention inside Musaya
- A neighbor group is joined only with its group code, and the group screen tells members to show that code only while neighbors are together. A group has no searchable name and no public page.
- Members are identified only by random identifiers. Musaya has no accounts, member profiles, photos, or chat between members.
- The only text that one member writes and another member's phone displays is a strip name, carried in a QR code that an adjoining neighbor scans face to face. A ring offer shows its contents to the members of the ring only after every member has accepted it.
- Every strip name that a neighbor's phone shows to yours has a Report flag, and so does a ring offer once it is revealed.
- The report window also offers Block this member for a strip name that came from a neighbor. Musaya records the block on your phone and does not notify the member.
- You can leave a group at any time with Leave on the group screen. Leaving clears the group's credentials and the strips received from neighbors from your phone.
- A dedicated Child Safety screen in the app repeats these standards and has a Report a child safety concern button. Open Settings, then Child safety. The same screen has a Read the full child safety standards button that opens this page.
Musaya has no public feed, profile, chat room, account, or hosted content repository. A strip name reaches a neighbor's phone only when that neighbor scans its QR code, and a ring offer reaches only the members of that ring. This limits exposure but does not reduce the prohibition or the duty to report suspected child exploitation.
4. How to report
If a child is in immediate danger, stop using Musaya for the matter and contact your local police or emergency services now.
- In the app: tap the Report flag beside a strip name that came from a neighbor's phone, or beside a ring offer. In the Report this content window, choose Send report. Your email app opens with a draft addressed to the developer that names the reported item and includes its details. You can also open Settings, then Child safety, and choose Report a child safety concern.
- Block a member: in the same window, choose Block this member. The option appears for a strip name that came from a neighbor's phone.
- Email: send details to the designated child-safety contact at [email protected].
- Authorities: report suspected exploitation to the appropriate national or local authority. In the United States, reports can be submitted to the NCMEC CyberTipline.
Do not email suspected CSAM. Preserve the original location safely and follow instructions from the competent authority. A report is an email that you write and send yourself with your own email app; Musaya does not send a report on its own.
5. Response and cooperation
We review child-safety messages sent to the contact below and respond as promptly as reasonably possible. Musaya's coordination service holds random identifiers and coordination data for neighbor groups. It does not receive strip names, so the developer cannot read or remotely delete a strip name that a phone holds. A member can remove what their phone holds by leaving the group or clearing Musaya's storage. Where information is available to us, such as the content of a report, we will preserve it appropriately, cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement, report child sexual abuse material and other apparent child exploitation to the appropriate authorities, including NCMEC where required, remove or restrict data on the service we operate where we are able to when misuse is identified, and improve technical or policy safeguards.
