How to request account deletion
You can ask us to permanently delete your Matjar account and its associated data at any time. Choose either option:
- Email request (recommended): send an email to [email protected] from any address, with the subject "Matjar Account Deletion Request" and include the phone number you used to sign in. We verify ownership of that number, then delete the account.
- In-app: you can delete your individual listings yourself at any time from My Listings. To remove the whole account, use the email request above.
Requests are completed within 30 days; most are handled within a few business days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in identifier (phone number).
- Your profile data (display name and profile photo, if provided).
- All of your listings and uploaded listing photos.
- Your chat messages and offers.
- Saved favorites and app preferences tied to your account.
What may be kept, and for how long
- Records we are legally required to retain, or that are needed to handle abuse, fraud, or safety reports (including child-safety reports), may be kept for up to 90 days after deletion, then permanently removed.
- Anonymous, aggregated diagnostics that cannot identify you may be retained.
