Konjekti Privacy Policy

1. Core Privacy Principle: Zero Data Collection

Konjekti is an offline, local-first scientific experiment planning tool. We do not collect, store, transmit, monetize, or track any personal data or usage data.

• No Network Permission: The app does not request or hold android.permission.INTERNET or android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE. It has no technical capability to transmit data over the internet.
• No Servers or Accounts: There are no cloud servers, remote databases, logins, or user accounts.
• No Tracking or Telemetry: Zero advertising libraries, analytics trackers, or commercial telemetry SDKs are included.

2. Information You Create Locally

All data created in Konjekti stays strictly on your physical device:

• Investigations: Question titles, input/output variable names and units, candidate input lists, and measurement error tolerances.
• Mathematical Models: Polynomial hypotheses, prediction uncertainties, self-declared contributor aliases, and rationale notes.
• Recorded Observations: Measured test inputs, observed outputs, error bounds, and observation notes.

3. On-Device Storage and Encryption

All investigations are saved in the app's internal storage, encrypted at rest using an AES-256 cipher backed by an Android Keystore key generated directly on your device.

• Backup Exclusion: App data is explicitly excluded from Android cloud backups and device-to-device migration.
• Temporary Cache Clearance: When exporting an investigation file, it is written to a private cache directory that is wiped automatically each time the application launches.

4. Collaboration & Shared Files (User-Generated Content)

Users may choose to share investigations directly with classmates or teachers as .kj files using their own preferred transport (e.g., email, messaging apps, Bluetooth, or local file storage).

• Transparent Export: Exported files contain only study parameters, models, and observations. They contain no private keys, device identifiers, or tracking tokens.
• Explicit Inbound Review: When opening a file from another person, nothing is merged automatically. Konjekti presents a comprehensive review screen detailing every new item so you decide what to accept.
• Local Moderation: You can hide any individual item or hide all items from an author at any time.

5. Safety & Reporting

Harmful, harassing, sexually explicit, abusive, or infringing material is strictly prohibited. Every shared model and observation row provides a Report action that opens a pre-addressed email draft to [email protected].

6. Data Deletion

Deleting an investigation in the app removes it permanently from your encrypted local storage. Uninstalling the app permanently purges all stored investigations and local keys.
