Ituze is an app developed by Saifullah Ahad that guides a self-test for the common kind of positional spinning dizziness and the head-position moves (the Epley maneuver) for the ear that test points to, using the phone resting on the forehead.
Your safety-check answers, test answers, treatment sessions, morning checks and settings are kept in the app's private storage on your phone. The app has no account, no developer server, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting, and it does not send any of this information to the developer or anyone else.
The Android app declares no internet, network-state or Wi-Fi-state permission, so it cannot send or receive data over a network. It does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts or speech recognition.
While the calibration or session screen is open, the app reads the phone's accelerometer, and its gyroscope when the phone has one, to measure the angle of your head to gravity. These readings are used on the phone in real time and are not stored or shared. Only the result of each session (for example which positions were held and for how long) is saved to your history.
Spoken instructions use your phone's own text-to-speech engine. Ituze passes it only the app's fixed instruction sentences, never your answers. Your text-to-speech engine applies its own privacy policy.
If you turn on the morning reminder, the app asks for permission to show notifications and schedules one local reminder a day on your phone. It also uses the permission to restart that reminder after the phone restarts. You can turn the reminder off at any time in Settings.
The doctor page summarizes your own record. It is only shared when you choose Share as PDF or Print; Android then sends the PDF to the app or printer you select, which applies its own privacy policy. Ituze keeps a temporary copy of that PDF in its private cache.
Your record stays on your phone until you use Delete everything in Settings, clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer of the app's data are turned off. Deleting your record does not delete a PDF you already shared; remove that where you sent it.
The emergency button opens your phone's dialer with 112 ready; the app does not place the call. Website links open your browser, app links open the selected app or Google Play, the phone contact opens the dialer, and feedback opens an email draft in your email app for you to review and send. No health information is attached. If you send an email, the developer receives the message and your address and uses them only to reply. These apps and services apply their own privacy policies.
Ituze does not give medical advice about medicines and does not replace an examination by a doctor. Your answers are used on your phone only, to decide whether the app's moves are suitable for you and what to do next.
Ituze is intended for adults and is not directed at children. It does not collect personal information from children or anyone else.
This policy may change if the app's data handling changes. The effective date identifies the current version.
