Delete without the app
Email us from the email address of your account, or any address with the phone number you signed in with, with the subject Neighbor: ShareNear account deletion. We may ask you to confirm the request, and we delete the account and its data within 30 days.
What is deleted
Deleting your account removes:
- your sign-in details (name, phone number or email address and account ID), your profile and profile photo, and your saved location details;
- your block lists, and your name from other people's block lists;
- the posts, celebrations and meetups you created, and the photos you uploaded to them;
- the messages you sent in chats, including photos and voice messages. You are also removed from the chat. A chat nobody is left in is deleted;
- your family membership and what you posted on the family wall. If you were the guardian of a family and other members remain, the guardian role passes to the member who has been in the family the longest. If you were the only member, the family is deleted;
- family connection requests you sent or answered;
- the copy of your data stored on the phone you deleted from.
What stays, and for how long
- Reports you made about unsafe posts may be kept for up to 180 days so we can act on them, then removed.
- What other people sent you stays with them. Messages that other people wrote in a chat you were in stay in that chat for them.
- Our service providers may keep copies in their backups for up to 180 days, then remove them.
- Feedback you sent us stays in our inbox. Ask in the same email and we delete it too.
